A phospho-specific rabbit polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com, supplied as 200 µL of unconjugated IgG, that simultaneously recognizes the activated insulin receptor at Y1146 and the insulin-like growth factor 1 receptor at Y1131. Both residues sit within the kinase activation loops of these receptor tyrosine kinases, making the reagent a direct readout of ligand-induced signaling through the insulin/IGF axis and a useful upstream marker for IRS-1/PI3K/AKT cascade activity. The polyclonal response increases the chance of capturing receptor even when sample handling partially dephosphorylates the target.

Validated for Western blot across human, mouse, and rat lysates, the antibody is commonly used to probe insulin-stimulated INSR autophosphorylation in hepatocyte or myotube preparations, to characterize IGF1R activation in tumor cell lines, to monitor receptor desensitization in models of insulin resistance, and to compare pathway engagement between wild-type and knockout tissues. Research areas include type 2 diabetes, growth disorders, and IGF1R-driven cancers such as certain breast and prostate tumors.

For best results, prepare lysates on ice with phosphatase inhibitors, separate reduced samples by SDS-PAGE, and transfer before probing. Aliquot the 200 µL stock upon receipt and store frozen at -20 degrees C, avoiding repeated freeze-thaw cycles to preserve phospho-epitope recognition; protect from light during handling and limit ambient exposure of working dilutions.
