The 200 µl rabbit polyclonal antibody from Antibodies.com targets the human INHBA protein (inhibin subunit beta A), a member of the TGF-β superfamily that dimerises to form Activin A as well as the inhibin heterodimers. Produced in rabbits and purified as an IgG preparation, this unconjugated reagent is supplied as a 200 µl vial for Western blot applications on human samples.

Inhibin beta A is expressed in many tissues, including the gonads, pituitary, liver, and placenta. It is widely studied in reproductive biology because the homodimer Activin A drives FSH secretion and granulosa cell differentiation in the ovary. Researchers investigating follicle development, spermatogenesis, and gonadal feedback loops use antibodies raised against INHBA to follow hormone subunit expression by Western blot across cell and tissue lysates.

Outside the reproductive axis, INHBA is a recurring marker in cancer and inflammation work. Upregulation of INHBA has been documented in several solid tumour types, and Activin A produced from this subunit contributes to fibrotic and inflammatory signalling, so this reagent is also useful for studies of tissue fibrosis, wound healing, and stromal-immune interactions. Routine Western blot work with the antibody uses reducing SDS-PAGE followed by chemiluminescent detection of the band at the expected molecular weight for the inhibin beta A subunit.

For long-term storage, aliquot and freeze at -20°C; avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles. Provided by Antibodies.com as a 200 µl vial of polyclonal IgG.
