The Anti-Influenza B Virus Hemagglutinin Antibody [1H12] from Antibodies.com is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 reagent supplied as 100 ug in liquid format, ready for direct use in standard immunoassays without reconstitution. It specifically recognizes the hemagglutinin (HA) surface glycoprotein of influenza B virus, a trimeric envelope protein that mediates sialic acid-dependent attachment and pH-triggered membrane fusion during viral entry.

Validated applications include western blot, immunoprecipitation, immunocytochemistry/immunofluorescence, and ELISA, allowing detection of HA in infected cell lysates, recombinant protein preparations, and fixed-cell monolayers. Because the antibody is supplied unconjugated, it can be readily conjugated to HRP, biotin, or fluorophores to match downstream detection chemistry.

For handling, aliquot the antibody into single-use portions upon arrival and store frozen at -20 degrees C; thaw on ice before use, avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles, and protect from light if a fluorescent conjugate is later prepared.

Hemagglutinin is a primary antigenic target for influenza B surveillance and vaccine strain selection because of its role in antigenic drift, so this HA-specific clone is a useful tool for characterizing circulating strains, mapping epitope coverage, and validating recombinant HA antigens in subunit vaccine and antiviral research.
