INDOL1, also referred to as indoleamine 2,3-dioxygenase 2 (IDO2), is a heme-dependent enzyme that catalyzes the oxidative cleavage of the indole ring during tryptophan catabolism along the kynurenine pathway. The unconjugated rabbit polyclonal antibody offered by Antibodies.com targets this enzyme and is supplied in a 100 µl volume for Western blot (WB) and ELISA applications against human samples. INDOL1 is expressed in liver, kidney, and certain immune cell populations, and it has drawn research interest because its substrate preferences overlap with but are distinct from those of the related IDO1 enzyme, including differential handling of D- and L-tryptophan stereoisomers. The polyclonal format recognizes multiple epitopes on the target protein, supporting reproducible detection in whole-cell lysates and recombinant preparations. Researchers studying kynurenine pathway biology, tumor immune evasion, or hepatic tryptophan metabolism can use this reagent for expression profiling across human cell lines and primary tissue. For best stability, refrigerate the stock and prepare working aliquots to limit repeated freeze-thaw cycles, protecting the solution from light between uses.
