This rabbit polyclonal antibody targets Interleukin-7 (IL-7), a homeostatic cytokine central to T-cell development, lymphocyte survival, and thymic maturation. Raised in rabbit and supplied by Antibodies.com as an unconjugated reagent, it is validated for Western Blot detection of endogenous IL-7 in human, mouse, and rat samples. Researchers studying T-ALL leukemia, HIV-mediated lymphopenia, and thymic stromal biology rely on this reagent to resolve the roughly 20 kDa IL-7 cytokine band under reducing SDS-PAGE conditions.

The product is formulated at 1 mg/ml in PBS with 0.1% Sodium Azide and 50% Glycerol, supplied as a 100 µL vial. Short-term storage at 4°C is acceptable for working use, while long-term stability is best maintained by freezing at -20°C in single-use aliquots to limit freeze-thaw cycles that can degrade the IgG fraction. The unconjugated format makes the reagent compatible with secondary detection schemes including HRP-conjugated anti-rabbit IgG and fluorescently labelled reporter antibodies, giving laboratories flexibility in assay design.

IL-7 is secreted at low endogenous abundance, so adequate total protein loading per lane and an ECL-based substrate are recommended for clear band visualization. The glycerol-containing buffer is not directly suited to live-cell staining workflows; sodium azide should be removed by dialysis or gel filtration if the downstream application requires it.
