Anti-IL18 Antibody

Interleukin-18 (IL18) is the focus of this unconjugated rabbit polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com, supplied as a 100 µl vial at 1 mg/ml in phosphate buffered saline (PBS) with 0.05% sodium azide at approximately pH 7.2. IL18 is a pro-inflammatory cytokine of the IL-1 family that is synthesized as an inactive 24 kDa precursor (pro-IL-18) and cleaved by caspase-1 to generate the mature, biologically active 18 kDa form, which drives interferon-gamma production and shapes Th1 immune responses.

This affinity reagent is validated for western blot (WB) and immunohistochemistry (IHC) on human samples. Its polyclonal nature means multiple epitopes across the IL18 target are recognized, supporting detection of endogenous protein in cell lysates and in fixed tissue sections in studies of inflammasome activation, caspase-1 processing, and inflammatory disease models.
