This rabbit polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com targets human Interleukin-17F (IL17F), a pro-inflammatory cytokine of the IL-17 family expressed primarily by activated Th17 cells and by several innate lymphoid populations. IL17F signals through a heterodimeric receptor complex shared with IL17A, driving neutrophil recruitment, mucosal defense, and pathologic inflammation in conditions such as psoriasis, inflammatory bowel disease, rheumatoid arthritis, and asthma, which makes reliable detection of this cytokine a recurring need in immunology, mucosal biology, and inflammation research.

The antibody is supplied as 100 µl of an unconjugated polyclonal rabbit IgG preparation at 1 mg/ml in PBS with 0.1% sodium azide and 50% glycerol as a cryoprotectant. It is validated for Western blot, immunohistochemistry, and immunofluorescence applications on human samples, and the polyclonal format provides recognition of multiple epitopes across the IL17F protein, which can be useful when probing expression in tissue sections or confirming band identity on blots.

Storage recommendation: aliquot upon receipt to limit freeze-thaw cycles of the glycerol stock and store refrigerated at 4°C for short-term use; for longer holding, the glycerol formulation remains stable at -20°C. The azide-containing buffer is compatible with most standard chromogenic and fluorescence workflows but should be removed by dialysis or ultrafiltration if live-cell labeling, conjugation chemistry, or azide-sensitive detection requires an azide-free environment. Researchers working on Th17 biology, autoimmune disease models, or mucosal immunity will find this unconjugated primary antibody a focused tool for tracking IL17F expression across experimental systems.
