A rabbit polyclonal primary antibody raised against interleukin-17A (IL-17A), a pro-inflammatory cytokine secreted primarily by Th17 cells and central to studies of mucosal immunity, autoimmunity, and host defense. Supplied by Antibodies.com at 1 mg/ml in PBS with 0.1% sodium azide and 50% glycerol as a cryoprotectant, the reagent is unconjugated and shipped as a 100 µl aliquot.

The antibody recognizes IL-17A across human, mouse, and rat samples and is validated for western blot detection of endogenous protein in cell lysates and tissue homogenates. Polyclonal reactivity provides recognition of multiple epitopes on the cytokine, which can improve signal when the denatured target is resolved by SDS-PAGE and transferred to membranes for immunoblotting. Because the reagent is unconjugated, it can be paired with a secondary antibody of the user's choice for chemiluminescent or fluorescent detection chemistries.

Sodium azide at 0.1% acts as a microbial preservative, and aliquoting is recommended when the vial will be accessed repeatedly, since glycerol-supplemented stocks tolerate repeated freeze-thaw cycles less well than single-use aliquots. Storage at -20 °C in working aliquots preserves long-term activity for ongoing IL-17A research programs, including investigations of Th17 differentiation, neutrophilic inflammation, and cytokine signaling pathways.
