Raised in rabbit against a KLH-conjugated synthetic peptide spanning amino acids 117-146 at the C-terminus of human IL-13 (synonyms: NC30, Interleukin-13), this affinity-purified polyclonal IgG reagent from Antibodies.com detects endogenous levels of the IL-13 cytokine in human-derived samples. The immunogen sequence is restricted to the C-terminal region of the IL13 precursor, and the antibody is purified by Protein A affinity chromatography prior to vialing. Calculated cross-reactivity is restricted to human IL-13, so the reagent is suited to human tissue, primary cells, and cell-line preparations without significant recognition of mouse, rat, or other rodent homologs in the validated assays.

Because the reagent is unconjugated, it pairs with HRP, biotin, or fluorophore-conjugated secondary antibodies chosen by the end user. It supports Western blot analysis of endogenous IL-13, immunohistochemistry staining of fixed tissue sections, and immunofluorescence localization in cultured cells on human samples. Microwave antigen retrieval with 10 mM PBS buffer pH 7.2 is the standard pre-treatment for C-terminal IL-13 immunohistochemistry staining of formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded sections.

Supplied as 200 µL in a vial, the reagent should be refrigerated upon receipt to preserve activity; for long-term projects, aliquot into single-use volumes and store frozen, avoiding repeated freeze-thaw cycles to preserve titer. This Antibodies.com product is intended for research use only and is not cleared for diagnostic or therapeutic use.
