Anti-IL-5 Antibody

Raised in rabbit and affinity-purified by epitope-specific chromatography, this polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com is directed against endogenous interleukin-5 (IL-5), a cytokine also known as TRF, EDF, or B-cell differentiation factor I. The immunogen is a synthetic peptide derived from the internal region of human IL-5, and the antibody is supplied as a 50 µl liquid formulation at 1 mg/mL in PBS containing 50% glycerol, 0.5% BSA, and 0.02% sodium azide. It is unconjugated and of the IgG isotype, making it suitable for direct detection with secondary reagents. Validated applications include Western blot (WB), immunohistochemistry (IHC), and ELISA, and the antibody has been confirmed to react with human, mouse, and rat samples. For handling, the vial is shipped at 4 °C and should be aliquoted upon arrival and stored at −20 °C, with repeated freeze/thaw cycles avoided to preserve activity.
