A rabbit-derived polyclonal primary antibody targeting human Interleukin-33, supplied by Antibodies.com as an unconjugated reagent in a 100 µl vial volume. Interleukin-33 is a nuclear-associated alarmin cytokine of the IL-1 family, released from damaged or necrotic epithelial and endothelial cells to signal through the ST2 receptor (IL1RL1) on innate and adaptive immune cells. The cytokine drives type 2 immune responses, supports mucosal barrier integrity, and contributes to allergic inflammation, helminth defense, and tissue repair after injury, making it a frequent target in respiratory, dermatology, and mucosal immunology research.

This unconjugated antibody recognizes human IL-33 and is validated for Western blot and ELISA applications, allowing detection of both the full-length ~30 kDa precursor and the shorter mature forms generated by calpain or neutrophil elastase cleavage during inflammatory signaling. The polyclonal host format provides recognition of multiple epitopes across the IL-33 protein, which can be advantageous when probing cleaved fragments, splice variants, or post-translationally modified species. For handling, aliquoting upon receipt is recommended to limit freeze-thaw cycles and preserve reagent performance across repeated experiments.
