Interleukin-1 receptor antagonist (IL-1ra, also referred to as IL-1RN) is a secreted anti-inflammatory cytokine that competitively occupies the type I IL-1 receptor without triggering downstream signalling, antagonising the pro-inflammatory activity of IL-1α and IL-1β. The unconjugated rabbit polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com was raised against the human IL-1ra protein and is supplied in a 100 µl vial, with affinity-purified IgG validated for western blot (WB), immunohistochemistry (IHC), and immunofluorescence (IF) workflows on human samples and tissues.

Because IL-1ra modulates inflammation, innate immune responses, and autoinflammatory disease pathways, this antibody supports studies of cytokine regulation in cell lysates, paraffin or frozen tissue sections, and fixed cells. It detects the endogenous human target and is suitable for both intracellular staining patterns and band detection at the expected molecular weight in immunoblotting, providing flexibility for chromogenic IHC, fluorescent IF imaging, and standard western blot analysis.

Storage recommendations: keep the vial refrigerated at 4 °C for short-term use, or freeze at -20 °C in single-use aliquots to limit freeze-thaw cycles. The unconjugated format contains no fluorophore or enzyme label, allowing direct custom conjugation or pairing with a secondary antibody of the user's choice. For research use only; not validated for diagnostic or therapeutic procedures.
