This polyclonal antibody from Antibodies.com is raised in rabbit and specifically recognizes IKKα and IKKβ only when phosphorylated at serine residues 180 and 181 within the kinase activation loop. Phosphorylation at these sites marks the catalytically active form of the IκB kinase complex and indicates downstream NF-κB pathway activation, making this reagent relevant for research into inflammatory signaling, innate and adaptive immune responses, cytokine-driven signaling cascades, cellular stress responses, and oncogenic contexts where constitutive NF-κB activity is implicated.

Validated for immunohistochemistry on human, mouse, and rat tissue sections, the antibody allows researchers to localize activated IKK signaling in situ across the most commonly used preclinical model organisms. It is supplied as 100 µl of unconjugated reagent at 1 mg/ml in phosphate buffered saline (PBS) containing 0.05% sodium azide as a preservative, pH approximately 7.2, leaving label choice and detection chemistry to the end user. The polyclonal rabbit host preparation provides multi-epitope recognition around the phospho-S180/pS181 region to enhance signal on fixed samples.

For handling, store the vial refrigerated and protect from light; avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles to preserve phospho-epitope binding activity. Brief centrifugation before use helps recover the full nominal volume from the container.
