This unconjugated monoclonal antibody from Antibodies.com is raised against the N-terminal region of human IκBα, the cytoplasmic inhibitor that retains NF-κB transcription factors in an inactive state until stimulus-induced phosphorylation and degradation. The reagent is supplied as 100 µl of purified mouse immunoglobulin in a 0.1 M Tris-Glycine buffer (pH 7.4, 150 mM NaCl) supplemented with 0.2% sodium azide and 50% glycerol, and is validated for Western blot detection of endogenous IκBα in human cell and tissue lysates.

The antibody binds an epitope in the N-terminal portion of the inhibitor, a region that contains the key serine residues targeted by the IKK complex during canonical NF-κB signaling. This makes the reagent a useful probe for studies of inflammatory signaling cascades, cytokine-driven pathways, and downstream transcriptional responses. Because the antibody is unconjugated, laboratories can pair it with their preferred secondary reagent and chemiluminescent or fluorescent detection chemistry, and the glycerol-supplemented buffer allows storage at -20°C with minimal freeze-thaw cycling between experiments. Each vial is intended for research use only, with reactivity to species beyond human best confirmed empirically by the end user.
