Indian Hedgehog (IHH) is a secreted signaling protein of the Hedgehog family that governs chondrocyte proliferation, endochondral ossification, and skeletal patterning during vertebrate development. This unconjugated polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com is raised in rabbit against the IHH target and is validated for Western blot and immunohistochemistry workflows across Human, Mouse, and Rat sample types.

Supplied as a 100 µl vial at 1 mg/ml in PBS with 0.1% sodium azide and 50% glycerol as a cryoprotectant, the antibody remains liquid at working temperatures and is intended for frozen storage at -20°C, with aliquoting recommended to limit repeated freeze-thaw cycles. Researchers apply it to track IHH expression in developing long bones, growth plate cartilage, and other tissues where Indian Hedgehog directs PTHrP feedback and chondrocyte hypertrophy.

The polyclonal format increases the likelihood of detecting multiple epitopes on the IHH precursor and its processed N-terminal signaling fragment, which is helpful when probing formalin-fixed tissue sections or whole-cell lysates. It is supplied for research use only and should be handled with appropriate cold-chain practices to preserve binding activity.
