This recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibody from Antibodies.com specifically targets the IgG4 immunoglobulin subclass and is supplied as an unconjugated reagent for immunology research workflows. Validated for western blot and immunohistochemistry on human samples, the antibody recognizes IgG4 and supports identification of IgG4-positive plasma cells in tissue sections as well as IgG4 heavy chain expression in cell or tissue lysates.

IgG4 antibodies are widely used to characterize IgG4-related disease (IgG4-RD), a fibroinflammatory condition that can affect the pancreas, salivary glands, lacrimal glands, retroperitoneum, thyroid, and other organs. Counting IgG4-positive plasma cells per high-power field, together with the IgG4/IgG ratio, assists evaluation of autoimmune pancreatitis, Mikulicz's disease, Küttner's tumor, Riedel's thyroiditis, and retroperitoneal fibrosis. Researchers studying allergen tolerance, chronic antigen exposure, and immune regulation also use IgG4 detection to monitor class-switching dynamics in B cell populations.

Provided as 100 µl of recombinant antibody in 1×TBS (pH 7.4) with 1% BSA, 40% glycerol, and 0.05% sodium azide as preservative, the reagent is shipped as a single-use aliquot that can be diluted into working volumes before staining or blotting. Store refrigerated at 4 °C for short-term use, or aliquot and freeze for longer-term stability, protecting the vial from repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
