A rabbit-derived polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com that detects insulin-like growth factor 2 (IGF2), a 7.5 kDa mitogenic peptide encoded by an imprinted paternal allele that drives fetal and placental development. This unconjugated primary antibody recognizes endogenous IGF2 in human, mouse, and rat samples and has been validated for Western blot (WB) and immunohistochemistry (IHC) workflows.

Supplied in a vial containing 100 µl of liquid, the antibody performs in nitrocellulose or PVDF membrane probing and in formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded tissue staining, where it pairs cleanly with HRP- or fluorescence-tagged secondary reagents. IGF2 signals through the IGF1R and insulin receptor (IR-A) tyrosine kinases and is a frequent focus in oncology research (Wilms tumor, hepatoblastoma, colorectal carcinoma), imprinting disorder studies such as Beckwith-Wiedemann syndrome, and metabolic investigations of glucose homeostasis.

Refrigerated storage and aliquoting minimize freeze-thaw damage to the polyclonal pool, preserving epitope affinity across blotting and staining runs. For research use only.
