Anti-IGF-1R (Ab-1161) Antibody

Raised in rabbit and affinity-purified by epitope-specific peptide chromatography, this polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com is designed to detect endogenous levels of total IGF-1R (insulin-like growth factor 1 receptor). It was generated against a synthetic peptide spanning residues 1159–1163 (D-I-Y-E-T) of the human IGF-1R sequence and cross-reacts with mouse and rat orthologues in addition to its primary human reactivity. The antibody is supplied unconjugated at a concentration of 1.0 mg/mL in a 50 µl aliquot, formulated in phosphate-buffered saline (without Mg²⁺ and Ca²⁺), pH 7.4, containing 150 mM NaCl, 0.02% sodium azide and 50% glycerol as a cryoprotectant. It is validated for Western blotting (WB), immunohistochemistry (IHC) and immunocytochemistry/immunofluorescence (ICC/IF), making it suitable for studies of receptor tyrosine kinase signalling in cell lysates, formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded tissue sections and fixed-cell preparations. Storage is straightforward: the vial ships at 4 °C and should be aliquoted and held at –20 °C on arrival, with repeated freeze/thaw cycles avoided to preserve binding activity.
