Affinity-purified polyclonal antisera from Antibodies.com enable detection of the interferon-gamma receptor alpha subunit in human-derived samples, supporting research into cytokine signaling and immune cell regulation. The reagent is supplied as 100 µL of unconjugated rabbit antiserum in a single vial, intended for research use only and validated for immunoblotting and immunoassay workflows.

IFN-γRα, also designated CD119, is a ~55 kDa type I transmembrane glycoprotein encoded by the IFNGR1 locus; it associates with the IFN-γRβ chain to assemble the functional interferon-gamma receptor that drives JAK-STAT pathway activation. Long-term storage is best at -20 °C in working aliquots to limit freeze-thaw degradation, and the antibody should be protected from light during extended incubations.

Researchers investigating host defense, macrophage polarization, or interferon-driven autoimmune pathology can use this reagent to monitor receptor expression after SDS-PAGE separation of whole-cell lysates. The polyclonal composition provides broad epitope coverage, increasing the likelihood of recognizing the receptor across denatured and partially folded states, which is helpful when probing patient-derived material or comparing alternatively expressed receptor isoforms.
