IFIT1, also called ISG56 or P56, is an interferon-induced protein with tetratricopeptide repeats that operates as a downstream effector of the type I interferon response and contributes to cellular antiviral defense. This polyclonal antibody reagent is unconjugated, raised in rabbits as an IgG preparation, and supplied at 200 µl by Antibodies.com for research use only.

The antibody is validated for Western blot detection of endogenous IFIT1 in mouse and rat samples, where the target resolves at approximately 56 kDa on standard SDS-PAGE. IFIT1 selectively binds RNAs with non-canonical cap structures, including certain viral transcripts bearing a 5′-triphosphate, and restricts translation initiation. Its transcriptional induction is widely used as a sensitive readout of type I IFN pathway activation in cell culture and in tissue models exposed to viral infection, double-stranded RNA mimetics, or recombinant IFN-β stimulation.

For handling, aliquot on first thaw and store at -20°C, limiting freeze-thaw cycles to preserve binding activity. The reagent supports studies of innate immunity, viral restriction factors, interferon-stimulated gene expression, and inflammatory signaling in rodent systems.
