Raised in rabbit against the IDH3B protein, this unconjugated polyclonal antibody from Antibodies.com enables western blot detection of the beta subunit of mitochondrial NAD-dependent isocitrate dehydrogenase in human and rat samples. IDH3B is a TCA cycle enzyme that catalyzes the oxidative decarboxylation of isocitrate to alpha-ketoglutarate within the mitochondrial matrix, and the IDH3 holoenzyme assembles as a heterotetramer containing alpha, beta, and gamma subunits (IDH3A, IDH3B, IDH3G), with the beta subunit contributing to the catalytic core and the NAD+ binding interface.

Supplied at 1 mg/ml in phosphate buffered saline containing 15 mM sodium azide at approximately pH 7.2, the antibody ships as a 100 µl vial and supports refrigerated storage while preserving antigen binding activity. The unconjugated IgG format allows flexible detection with HRP-, fluorophore-, or biotin-conjugated secondary reagents in standard immunoblotting workflows.

IDH3B is of interest in studies of mitochondrial bioenergetics, TCA cycle flux, and retinal disease, where biallelic IDH3B variants have been linked to autosomal recessive retinitis pigmentosa. Researchers profiling mitochondrial NADH production, assembling the IDH3 complex, or comparing subunit stoichiometry in patient-derived samples can use this reagent to confirm the expected IDH3B band, generally around 42 kDa, alongside a suitable loading control.
