Mitochondrial isocitrate dehydrogenase 2 (IDH2), the NADP-dependent TCA cycle enzyme that converts isocitrate to alpha-ketoglutarate, is recognized by this rabbit polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com. IDH2 is a frequent subject of cancer metabolism research because somatic mutations at residues R140 and R172 confer neomorphic activity that produces the oncometabolite D-2-hydroxyglutarate, which reshapes cellular epigenetics by altering histone and DNA methylation patterns.

The unconjugated antibody is validated for western blot, immunohistochemistry, immunofluorescence, and immunoprecipitation workflows on human, mouse, and rat samples for research use only. Supplied at 1 mg/ml in PBS with 0.1% sodium azide and 50% glycerol as a 100 µl liquid aliquot in a vial, the polyclonal reagent binds multiple epitopes on the target, useful when probing either wild-type IDH2 or mutant isoforms that differ at single residues. Researchers commonly aliquot upon arrival to limit freeze-thaw cycles and store refrigerated for routine short-term use, with longer-term storage kept frozen thanks to the included glycerol cryoprotectant.
