This rabbit polyclonal primary antibody targets isocitrate dehydrogenase 1 (IDH1), a cytosolic NADP-dependent enzyme that catalyzes the oxidative decarboxylation of isocitrate to alpha-ketoglutarate while reducing NADP+ to NADPH. IDH1 is widely studied in cancer metabolism and redox biology, and antibodies against it are used to characterize wild-type and mutant forms of the protein in tumor samples.

Provided by antibodies.com as an unconjugated polyclonal reagent raised in rabbit, the antibody is supplied in a 100 µl volume and is validated across a broad panel of research assays: western blot (WB), immunohistochemistry (IHC), immunofluorescence (IF), immunoprecipitation (IP), and chromatin immunoprecipitation (CHIP). Cross-reactivity has been demonstrated against human, mouse, and rat samples, supporting use in cell-line work, primary tissue analysis, and animal model studies.

Typical applications include profiling IDH1 expression in glioma research, where detection of mutant IDH1 (commonly the R132H variant) is used as a diagnostic adjunct in tumor subtyping, as well as studies of tricarboxylic acid cycle flux, NADPH homeostasis, and oxidative stress responses in hepatocytes, neurons, and other metabolically active tissues. The unconjugated format allows researchers to pair the antibody with their preferred secondary detection reagents, including HRP-, biotin-, or fluorophore-conjugated antibodies, depending on the assay platform.

For storage and handling, the reagent should be kept refrigerated at 2-8°C for short-term use and stored frozen at -20°C in working aliquots to limit freeze-thaw cycles; protect from light and centrifuge briefly before opening to recover the full volume. Brief centrifugation and keeping the antibody on ice during use help preserve activity across multiple experiments.
