Isocitrate dehydrogenase 1 (IDH1) is a cytosolic NADP-dependent enzyme that catalyzes the oxidative decarboxylation of isocitrate to alpha-ketoglutarate while reducing NADP+ to NADPH, linking the citric acid cycle to cellular redox balance and lipid biosynthesis. The Antibodies.com monoclonal reagent targets this metabolic enzyme and is supplied unconjugated as 100 µL of mouse IgG1 in TBS (pH 7.4) containing 1% BSA, 40% glycerol, and 0.05% sodium azide as preservative.

This antibody is broadly used in cancer biology and neuropathology research, where IDH1 mutations, most notably the R132H substitution, function as diagnostic markers in diffuse gliomas and other solid tumors. Validated for Western blot and immunohistochemistry workflows, it enables detection of endogenous IDH1 expression and screening for mutant isoforms in fixed tissue sections. Confirmed reactivity in human and zebrafish samples supports comparative oncology studies, developmental biology investigations, and translational glioma research across model organisms.
