Raised in rabbit as an unconjugated IgG polyclonal reagent, this Antibodies.com Primary Antibodies product targets isocitrate dehydrogenase 1 (IDH1), the cytosolic NADP+-dependent enzyme that catalyzes oxidative decarboxylation of isocitrate to alpha-ketoglutarate. The antibody is validated for western blot, immunohistochemistry, immunofluorescence, and flow cytometry in human and mouse samples, supporting studies of cellular metabolism, the TCA cycle, and IDH1 mutation biology.

Supplied as 100 µl of unconjugated polyclonal IgG, the reagent is commonly used to compare wild-type and mutant IDH1 expression (notably the R132H variant) in glioma and acute myeloid leukemia research, where altered enzymatic activity produces the oncometabolite 2-hydroxyglutarate. Researchers apply it to cell lysates, fixed tissue sections, and cultured cells to characterize metabolic rewiring and tumor biology, and the cross-reactivity profile covers both human and mouse reactivity for translational studies.

For best results, aliquot the antibody upon arrival and store frozen to preserve activity across multiple freeze-thaw cycles; protect from light when handling. The unconjugated IgG format leaves the researcher free to pair the reagent with their own HRP, biotin, fluorophore, or other reporter conjugates, making it a flexible building block for chromogenic, immunofluorescent, or flow cytometry-based detection workflows.
