Anti-ICAM4 Antibody

ICAM4 (Intercellular Adhesion Molecule 4) is a cell-surface glycoprotein of the immunoglobulin superfamily, expressed predominantly on erythrocytes and recognized as the Landsteiner-Wiener (LW) blood group antigen. This unconjugated polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com was raised in rabbit and is validated for Western blot and immunohistochemistry on human samples. It is supplied as 100 µl of liquid antiserum for studies of cell adhesion mechanisms, including erythrocyte-endothelium interactions relevant to sickle cell disease and vascular occlusion research. Investigators also apply ICAM4-targeting antibodies to explore parasite sequestration, since Plasmodium falciparum-infected erythrocytes engage ICAM4 as a host receptor in cytoadherence studies.
