ICAM1 (CD54) is an immunoglobulin-superfamily cell-surface glycoprotein best known for mediating firm adhesion of rolling leukocytes to inflamed vascular endothelium and for serving as the entry receptor that major-group rhinoviruses exploit on respiratory epithelial cells. This unconjugated mouse IgG monoclonal reagent, supplied by Antibodies.com, is raised against the human ICAM1 protein, reacts specifically with the human target, and is delivered as 50 µl of antibody per vial. It has been validated for Western blot detection of the heavily glycosylated ICAM1 band on whole-cell lysates and for immunofluorescence staining of ICAM1 at the surface of activated endothelial and epithelial cells. Researchers studying leukocyte trafficking, endothelial activation in atherosclerosis or sepsis, cytokine-driven upregulation of adhesion molecules, or rhinovirus host-cell entry will find it a useful research-use-only reagent for immunoblotting and immunolabelling workflows in vascular biology and immunology labs.
