Anti-ICAM1 Antibody [Assigned #A0307]

Targeting the human Intercellular Adhesion Molecule 1 (ICAM1/CD54) surface antigen, this Antibodies.com monoclonal antibody (clone A0307) is supplied as 100 µl of unconjugated mouse IgG. ICAM1 is a heavily glycosylated type I transmembrane glycoprotein that contains five extracellular immunoglobulin-like Ig domains. Its expression is induced on endothelial and epithelial cells by pro-inflammatory cytokines such as TNF-α, IL-1β, and IFN-γ. On the cell surface, ICAM1 binds the β2 integrins LFA-1 (αLβ2, CD11a/CD18) and Mac-1 (αMβ2, CD11b/CD18), mediating firm leukocyte arrest and transendothelial migration during immune surveillance. Because of this central role in cell-cell adhesion, ICAM1 is widely investigated in vascular inflammation, transplant rejection, atherosclerosis, tumor cell extravasation, and rhinovirus entry studies.

This unconjugated format gives researchers flexibility in choosing secondary detection reagents: an HRP-conjugated anti-mouse secondary for chemiluminescent Western blot, or species-matched fluorophore-conjugated secondaries for multicolor immunofluorescence on fixed cells and tissue sections. The mouse IgG isotype is compatible with most standard anti-mouse secondary antibodies used in confocal microscopy of ICAM1 distribution.
