Produced in rabbit and supplied at 100 µl per vial, this unconjugated polyclonal primary antibody from Antibodies.com targets human Intercellular Adhesion Molecule 1 (ICAM-1, also known as CD54), a transmembrane immunoglobulin-superfamily glycoprotein that mediates leukocyte adhesion to activated vascular endothelium. The reagent is validated for Western blot and ELISA workflows and is reactive with human samples.

ICAM-1 expression is induced on endothelial cells, epithelial cells, and immune cells by pro-inflammatory cytokines including TNF-α, IL-1β, and IFN-γ, making this antibody useful for studies of vascular inflammation, immune cell trafficking, leukocyte extravasation, and endothelial activation. It is applied in research areas including atherosclerosis, transplant rejection, autoimmune disease modeling, and investigation of viral entry mechanisms. As a polyclonal reagent, the antibody binds multiple epitopes on the ICAM-1 molecule, which can improve detection when the target is partially degraded, truncated, or conformationally altered.

The antibody can be paired in ELISA as either a capture or detection reagent, and Western blot conditions should be optimized for each sample type and detection chemistry. Store refrigerated at 4 °C for short-term use; aliquot and freeze at -20 °C for long-term storage, avoiding repeated freeze-thaw cycles by preparing single-use working aliquots.
