Raised in rabbit as a polyclonal reagent, this unconjugated primary antibody targets hexokinase I (HXK I), the enzyme that phosphorylates glucose to glucose-6-phosphate at the gateway step of glycolysis. The Ig fraction is supplied at 1 mg/ml in PBS containing 0.1% sodium azide and 50% glycerol as a cryoprotectant, and is provided as a 100 µL vial sized for typical western blot, immunohistochemistry, and immunofluorescence workflows.

Validation has been performed on human, mouse, and rat samples, allowing cross-species comparison in studies of cerebral glucose metabolism, insulin-sensitive tissues, and tumor cell glycolysis. Sodium azide in the buffer inhibits microbial growth, so the reagent can be kept refrigerated for routine short-term use; for longer storage, freezing at -20°C is appropriate, with the included glycerol reducing freeze-thaw damage on aliquots.

Distributed by Antibodies.com, this rabbit polyclonal supports studies of the Warburg effect, mitochondrial outer-membrane association of glycolytic enzymes, and metabolic reprogramming in cancer or neurodegeneration models. As a primary antibody, it can be paired with HRP- or fluorophore-conjugated secondary reagents for chromogenic or fluorescent detection in WB, IHC, and IF formats.
