A polyclonal IgG reagent from Antibodies.com raised in rabbit against the huntingtin (HTT) protein, supplied as a 50 µl aliquot of unconjugated antibody. The reagent is validated for immunohistochemistry (IHC) on rat tissue and is intended for research use only. Huntingtin is the large multidomain protein encoded by the HTT gene on chromosome 4; expansion of its N-terminal CAG trinucleotide repeat beyond the normal range underlies Huntington's disease, producing a polyglutamine-expanded variant that forms nuclear and cytoplasmic aggregates in medium spiny neurons of the striatum.

Use this reagent to investigate mutant huntingtin aggregate burden, subcellular distribution of the endogenous protein, and baseline wild-type function in the rodent brain. In paraffin or frozen sections of rat striatum, cortex, and hippocampus, the antibody labels neuronal somata and processes, supporting studies of transcriptional regulation, vesicle trafficking, and the developmental roles attributed to wild-type huntingtin in embryonic neurogenesis. The unconjugated IgG format permits pairing with user-selected secondary detection systems, including HRP-polymer and fluorescence conjugates, and the 50 µl volume is suited to small pilot experiments and titration optimization before scaling to larger cohorts.

Storage at -20 °C in working aliquots is recommended to limit freeze-thaw cycles; centrifuge briefly and avoid prolonged exposure to light prior to use. For research use only; not for diagnostic or therapeutic applications.
