This polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com detects HTRA2 (High Temperature Requirement A2), a nuclear-encoded mitochondrial serine protease also referred to as OMI or PRSS25. HTRA2 contains a trypsin-like catalytic domain and a C-terminal PDZ domain, and it is released from the mitochondrial intermembrane space into the cytosol during apoptosis, where it contributes to caspase-dependent and caspase-independent cell death by cleaving inhibitors of apoptosis such as XIAP. Loss-of-function variants in HTRA2 have been associated with familial Parkinson's disease, and the protease is also implicated in mitochondrial protein quality control and unfolded protein response signaling.

Raised in rabbit, the antibody is provided as 100 µl of unconjugated antiserum validated for western blot (WB), immunohistochemistry (IHC), and immunofluorescence (IF). Reactivity has been confirmed against Human, Mouse, and Rat samples, supporting comparative work across cultured mammalian cells and tissue sections.

For handling, aliquot the antibody upon arrival and store at -20°C, avoiding repeated freeze-thaw cycles and protecting the vial from light. The reagent is suited to in vitro and in vivo studies of mitochondrial stress, apoptosis pathways, and neurodegenerative models where HTRA2 expression and cleavage activity are of interest.
