The Antibodies.com polyclonal antibody reagent targets the human 5-HT2A serotonin receptor encoded by the HTR2A gene, a G protein-coupled receptor widely studied in neuroscience and psychiatric research. Raised in rabbit and supplied as an unconjugated polyclonal preparation, this reagent is validated for Western blot (WB) and immunohistochemistry (IHC) workflows and detects the receptor in both human and rat tissue samples.
Researchers use this antibody to map 5-HT2A distribution across brain regions such as cortex, hippocampus, and claustrum, and to investigate receptor expression changes linked to schizophrenia, depression, and hallucinogenic drug action. Each vial contains 100 µl of polyclonal antiserum; aliquoting upon arrival is recommended to limit freeze-thaw cycles and preserve binding activity over time.
