The 5-HT1A serotonin receptor is a G protein-coupled receptor widely expressed in the central nervous system and a longstanding focus of neuroscience research into mood regulation, anxiety pathways, and the mechanism of action of serotonergic drugs. This unconjugated polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com is raised in rabbit against the human HTR1A protein and is suitable for Western blot and immunohistochemistry workflows on human, mouse, and rat samples.

Supplied as 100 µl of antiserum, the antibody binds multiple epitopes across the receptor, which is often advantageous when detecting lower-abundance bands on immunoblots and producing consistent signal in fixed tissue sections. The unconjugated format gives laboratories flexibility to pair the primary with HRP, biotin, or fluorescent secondary antibodies and to optimise detection chemistry for a particular sample preparation.

  • Host species: Rabbit
  • Clonality: Polyclonal
  • Conjugate: Unconjugated
  • Reactivity: Human, Mouse, Rat
  • Applications: Western blot, immunohistochemistry
  • Format: 100 µl vial

For Western blot, the reagent is incubated with membrane-bound protein after SDS-PAGE separation of whole-cell lysates or enriched membrane fractions, and developed using ECL or chromogenic substrates. For IHC on paraffin sections, heat-induced antigen retrieval with citrate buffer (pH 6) or EDTA (pH 9) is performed before applying the primary antibody and a species-appropriate detection reagent. Suggested starting dilutions vary with sample type; titration is recommended for each new preparation.

Storage and handling: refrigerate upon arrival, and aliquot before freezing at -20°C for long-term storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles to preserve activity. Intended for research use only.
