This phospho-specific polyclonal reagent supplied by Antibodies.com detects Heat Shock Protein Family B Member 1 (HSPB1, also called HSP27) only when the protein is phosphorylated at serine 82. It is raised in rabbit as an IgG antibody, supplied unconjugated in a 50 µl vial, and validated for western blot and immunohistochemistry on human samples.

Phosphorylation at Ser82 is one of the three major in vivo modification sites on HSPB1 and is principally driven by MAPKAP kinase 2/3 downstream of p38 MAPK signaling during cellular stress, cytoskeletal reorganization, and differentiation. Tracking the phospho-S82 form therefore supports work on stress-activated kinase cascades, actin dynamics, cytoprotection, and apoptosis regulation in areas such as cancer cell biology, neurodegeneration, and cardiovascular injury models.

For western blot, the reagent is expected to produce signal consistent with the ~27 kDa HSPB1 monomer in human lysates prepared from stressed or stimulated cells. Immunohistochemistry on formalin-fixed sections can localize the phosphorylated chaperone to relevant cellular compartments, helping distinguish stress-responsive tissue regions from resting counterparts.

Store at -20 °C in working aliquots to limit freeze-thaw cycles, and protect from light until use. The unconjugated IgG format is compatible with the secondary detection system of the user's choice, while the polyclonal backbone offers broad recognition of the phospho-S82 epitope across compatible human specimens. The full application list confirmed for this antibody is WB and IHC.
