The Antibodies.com Anti-HSPA8 polyclonal antibody is raised in rabbit and targets the constitutive 70 kDa heat shock cognate protein (HSC70), a member of the HSP70 chaperone family. Supplied as 100 µL of polyclonal antiserum in unconjugated form, the reagent is validated for Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry across human, mouse, and rat samples.

HSPA8 functions as an ATP-dependent molecular chaperone that assists nascent polypeptide folding, mediates uncoating of clathrin-coated vesicles, and participates in protein translocation across organellar membranes. Because it is expressed under normal, non-stress conditions, in contrast to the stress-induced HSP70 isoform, HSPA8 is widely used as a loading control in Western Blot analysis and as a marker for general chaperone activity in tissue studies.

Researchers commonly apply the antibody to Western Blot detection of the approximately 70 kDa HSPA8 band and to immunohistochemistry of fixed tissue sections. The polyclonal format recognizes multiple epitopes on the target, an advantage when working with samples where post-translational modification or splice variation may mask individual epitopes. The unconjugated format offers flexibility for downstream labeling with HRP, fluorophore, or biotin conjugates depending on the detection method required.
