HSP60 (Heat Shock Protein 60) is a mitochondrial chaperonin that mediates proper folding and assembly of client proteins imported into the mitochondrial matrix. The 6C8 clone, distributed by Antibodies.com, is an unconjugated mouse monoclonal antibody raised against HSP60 and validated for Western blot (WB), immunofluorescence (IF), and immunoprecipitation (IP) workflows. Reactivity has been confirmed in human, mouse, and rat samples, supporting comparative work across these standard model organisms. The reagent is supplied as a purified immunoglobulin at 100 ul volume and shipped in 0.1M Tris-Glycine buffer (pH 7.4) with 150 mM NaCl, 0.2% sodium azide as a microbial preservative, and 50% glycerol for cryoprotection. Researchers apply this antibody to investigate mitochondrial stress responses, chaperone-dependent protein homeostasis, and the involvement of HSP60 in apoptosis and inflammatory signaling cascades. In Western blot workflows it enables detection of HSP60 in cell lysates and tissue homogenates, while the immunofluorescence application supports visualization of characteristic mitochondrial localization in fixed cells and tissue sections. Immunoprecipitation compatibility allows pull-down of native HSP60-containing complexes for interaction studies and identification of co-precipitating partners. Because HSP60 expression is altered in cancer, neurodegenerative disease, and cardiovascular pathophysiology, the antibody is frequently used to compare chaperone abundance and subcellular localization between diseased and healthy controls. For handling, store refrigerated at 4 degrees C for short-term use; aliquot upon receipt and hold at -20 degrees C for long-term storage to preserve activity across repeated freeze-thaw cycles. The unconjugated format provides flexibility for downstream labeling with fluorophores, biotin, or enzymes according to the user's preferred detection strategy.
