Produced in rabbit as a polyclonal reagent and supplied at 100 µl, this unconjugated antibody targets HSF2 (Heat Shock Factor 2), a sequence-specific transcription factor that binds heat shock elements (HSE) in promoters of heat shock protein genes and supports cellular stress responses, spermatogenesis, and embryonic development. From Antibodies.com, it is validated for western blotting, immunohistochemistry, and immunofluorescence across human, mouse, and rat samples, providing a useful reagent for studies in stress biology, reproductive tissue research, and developmental gene regulation.

HSF2 assembles into homotrimers that translocate to the nucleus upon stress and cooperate with HSF1 in the heat shock response network. Beyond its canonical role in HSP transcription, HSF2 contributes to corticogenesis, oogenesis, and spermatid maturation, and its subcellular distribution shifts during differentiation and heat shock. The polyclonal format provides multi-epitope recognition, supporting detection of full-length protein as well as post-translationally modified species in lysates and tissue sections.

Recommended applications include western blot analysis of endogenous HSF2 in cell and tissue lysates, immunohistochemistry on formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded sections of testis and brain tissue, and immunofluorescence staining of cultured cells to examine nuclear localization under stress conditions. For storage, keep the vial at -20°C in working aliquots to limit freeze-thaw cycles; short-term refrigerated storage at 4°C is acceptable for limited periods. Intended for research use only.
