HSF2 (Heat Shock Factor 2) is a stress-responsive transcription factor that binds heat shock response elements and drives inducible expression of molecular chaperones during thermal and proteotoxic stress. This unconjugated Rabbit polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com is raised against the human HSF2 protein and validated for western blot and immunofluorescence workflows, with demonstrated reactivity toward mouse and rat orthologs for cross-species studies of thermotolerance, spermatogenesis, and chaperone network regulation.

The reagent is supplied as a 50 µl vial at 1 mg/ml in PBS with 0.1% sodium azide and 50% glycerol acting as a cryoprotectant. For routine short-term use, store refrigerated at 4 °C; for extended retention, aliquot and freeze at -20 °C to minimise freeze-thaw loss of activity and preserve titre. The polyclonal format recognises multiple epitopes across HSF2, which is helpful when probing endogenous expression levels in whole-cell lysates or visualising subcellular localisation in fixed cells, where epitope masking can complicate monoclonal detection.

Suitable applications include western blot of HeLa or heat-shocked cell lysates to confirm the characteristic 69 kDa HSF2 band, and immunofluorescence on paraformaldehyde-fixed cultured cells or tissue sections to visualise nuclear translocation following heat shock. Because the host species is Rabbit, an anti-rabbit IgG secondary antibody should be selected for detection, and researchers are advised to perform a titration series to determine the optimal working dilution for their particular sample preparation.
