HSD17B1 (17β-Hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase type 1) is a steroid-converting enzyme best known for catalyzing the reduction of estrone to the more potent estradiol, a reaction central to estrogen biosynthesis in peripheral tissues. This unconjugated polyclonal reagent, raised in rabbit, was developed to detect the human HSD17B1 protein in both western blot and immunohistochemistry workflows. Researchers studying hormone-dependent cancers such as breast and endometrial carcinoma, steroidogenic tissues, and estrogen-metabolizing pathways rely on antibodies targeting this enzyme to map expression patterns and investigate regulation of local estradiol production. The antibody is supplied as a 100 µl liquid aliquot with reactivity confirmed against human samples. From Antibodies.com, this reagent is positioned for laboratory research use only, not for diagnostic or therapeutic application, and it complements immunohistochemical staining of fixed tissue sections as well as immunoblotting of cell and tissue lysates.
