HSC70 (also called HSPA8 or Hsp73) is the constitutively expressed 70 kDa chaperone of the HSP70 family, supporting nascent polypeptide folding, vesicular trafficking, and chaperone-mediated autophagy in mammalian cells. This rabbit polyclonal reagent was raised against a peptide epitope spanning the K251 region of human HSC70, a lysine residue located within the N-terminal ATPase domain. The antibody is validated for immunohistochemistry (IHC) and cross-reacts with Human, Mouse, and Rat tissues, allowing comparative staining across standard laboratory model species. Supplied by Antibodies.com as a 50 µl vial at 1 mg/ml in phosphate-buffered saline (PBS) with 0.05% sodium azide at approximately pH 7.2, the unconjugated format permits flexible pairing with user-selected reporter systems and secondary detection chemistries. Researchers working on protein homeostasis, neurodegeneration, lysosomal biology, or stress-independent chaperone function commonly apply this reagent to localize basal HSC70 expression in fixed tissue sections.
