HSC 70 (Heat Shock Cognate 70, also known as HSPA8) is a constitutively expressed 70 kDa member of the HSP70 chaperone family. It assists nascent polypeptide folding, refolds stress-denatured substrates, drives clathrin-coated vesicle uncoating, and participates in chaperone-mediated autophagy. This recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibody from Antibodies.com recognizes HSC 70 and is supplied as 100 µl of unconjugated reagent in a vial containing 1×TBS (pH 7.4), 1% BSA, 40% glycerol, and 0.05% sodium azide as preservative. The antibody is validated for western blot, immunocytochemistry/immunofluorescence, and immunohistochemistry workflows on human, mouse, and rat samples.

Because HSC 70 is expressed across most cell types at steady state, the reagent is widely used as a loading control alongside stress-induced HSP70 detection, and is also applied to studies of chaperone-mediated autophagy substrate recognition and clathrin-dependent endocytic trafficking. The unconjugated format permits downstream labeling with HRP, biotin, or fluorophores in custom assay development. For storage, aliquot upon first receipt and store at -20°C in single-use tubes to limit freeze-thaw cycling; the glycerol-containing buffer prevents icing at this temperature, and short-term handling at 4°C is suitable for working dilutions in blocking buffer.
