Hemopexin (HPX) is a roughly 60 kDa plasma glycoprotein synthesized by hepatocytes that scavenges free heme with the highest known affinity of any circulating protein, limiting heme-driven oxidative injury and supporting safe heme-iron recycling during inflammation and hemolysis. The Antibodies.com Anti-HPX polyclonal antibody is raised in rabbit and supplied unconjugated in a 100 µl vial, validated for Western blot and immunohistochemistry on human samples. Researchers apply this reagent to track heme-handling pathways, study acute-phase responses, and investigate hepatic and neurodegenerative disease models where blood-brain barrier heme transport is relevant.

Because the antibody is unconjugated, it adapts cleanly to user-selected reporter chemistries such as HRP, biotin, or fluorophore conjugates, and the polyclonal host response recognizes multiple epitopes on human HPX, supporting a clear band near the expected 60 kDa region in Western blots and crisp staining in formalin-fixed tissue sections. Store refrigerated between uses, protect from light, and aliquot on first opening to limit freeze-thaw loss across long projects. Each lot is supplied as a ready-to-use primary reagent suitable for direct incorporation into standard immunodetection workflows in research use only applications.
