HPX (Hemopexin) is a plasma glycoprotein that functions as the primary high-affinity scavenger of free heme released during intravascular hemolysis, capturing porphyrin-bound iron and delivering it to hepatocytes for catabolism by heme oxygenase. This unconjugated rabbit polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com recognizes endogenous human and mouse HPX and is validated for Western blot and immunohistochemistry workflows on tissue sections and cell lysates.

Each vial contains 100 µl of antibody at 1 mg/ml, prepared in PBS with 0.1% sodium azide and 50% glycerol as a ready-to-dilute stock suitable for storage at -20 °C with minimal freeze-thaw loss. Investigators studying iron homeostasis, acute-phase response biology, and hemolytic disease use this reagent to monitor circulating hemopexin concentrations, hepatic heme uptake pathways, and inflammatory remodeling in experimental disease models.
