The polyclonal rabbit IgG reagent from Antibodies.com is raised against heparanase (HPSE), the endo-β-D-glucuronidase responsible for cleaving heparan sulfate side chains of proteoglycans such as syndecan-1 and perlecan. By remodeling the extracellular matrix and liberating growth factors sequestered within it, HPSE drives angiogenesis, leukocyte trafficking, and tumor cell migration across basement membranes, making its detection central to studies of metastasis, wound healing, and inflammatory signaling.

Provided as 200 µl of unconjugated antiserum, the antibody is validated for Western blot detection of the approximately 65 kDa latent pro-enzyme and the active ~50/8 kDa heterodimer that forms after proteolytic processing. Reactivity is confirmed against human, mouse, and rat HPSE, supporting use on whole-cell lysates, tumor xenograft homogenates, and matched normal tissue controls. The polyclonal format increases the likelihood of recognizing multiple epitopes across the enzyme, which is useful when monitoring processing, subcellular localization, or pathological upregulation in disease models.

Recommended starting dilutions fall in the 1:500–1:2000 range for immunoblotting on standard PVDF or nitrocellulose membranes with chemiluminescent detection. Aliquots should be refrigerated to preserve activity across repeated freeze-thaw cycles. For research use only.
