This rabbit polyclonal IgG antibody from Antibodies.com is raised against HPS1 (Hermansky-Pudlak Syndrome 1), a cytosolic protein implicated in the biogenesis and trafficking of lysosome-related organelles such as melanosomes and platelet dense granules. Mutations in HPS1 underlie Hermansky-Pudlak syndrome type 1, an autosomal recessive disorder marked by oculocutaneous albinism, platelet storage pool deficiency, and, in specific populations, progressive pulmonary fibrosis.

Supplied as 200 µl of unconjugated antibody, the reagent is validated for western blot, immunohistochemistry, and immunofluorescence applications on human, mouse, and rat samples. The polyclonal response targets multiple epitopes of the HPS1 protein, supporting reliable detection in melanocytes, fibroblasts, and pulmonary tissue. Researchers apply this antibody to studies of melanosome biogenesis, organelle trafficking, and the cellular basis of pigmentation and bleeding defects associated with HPS.

For handling, aliquot the antibody upon arrival and store frozen at -20 °C in working volumes to limit freeze-thaw cycles; avoid prolonged exposure to light. The unconjugated IgG format allows flexible pairing with HRP-, biotin-, or fluorophore-conjugated secondary antibodies for amplified or multicolor detection in IHC, IF, and western blot workflows.
