4-hydroxyphenylpyruvate dioxygenase (HPD) is a cytosolic enzyme that catalyzes the second step in the tyrosine catabolic pathway, converting 4-hydroxyphenylpyruvate to homogentisic acid. This unconjugated rabbit polyclonal IgG antibody from Antibodies.com is raised against the HPD target and recognizes the protein in both human and mouse samples.
Validated for Western blot, immunohistochemistry, and flow cytometry, the reagent fits routine workflows used to probe hepatic tyrosine metabolism, hereditary tyrosinemia type III research, and metabolic disease models in liver and kidney tissue. The polyclonal format offers recognition of multiple epitopes on HPD, while the unconjugated presentation lets investigators choose their own secondary label or use the antibody in indirect detection setups.
Each vial ships with 200 µl of antibody for standard immunodetection protocols. Storage recommendations follow standard polyclonal antibody handling: aliquot to limit freeze-thaw cycles and store refrigerated to preserve activity across long-term use.
