Anti-HP1 alpha (Ab-92) Antibody

Raised in rabbit and offered through Antibodies.com as an affinity-purified polyclonal reagent, this primary antibody recognizes an epitope located around residue 92 of human HP1 alpha (also known as CBX5), a chromodomain-containing heterochromatin marker. It is supplied unconjugated at a 50 µl pack size and is validated for Western blot (WB) and immunohistochemistry (IHC) applications. The reagent is of the IgG isotype and shows reactivity with human samples. For storage and handling, the antibody is shipped at 4 °C; upon arrival it should be aliquoted and stored at –20 °C, with repeated freeze/thaw cycles avoided to preserve activity. As a phospho-epitope-targeting polyclonal (raised against a non-phosphopeptide sequence flanking serine 92 of HP1 alpha), it is well suited to studies of chromatin-associated gene silencing, heterochromatin formation, and histone H3 Lys9 methylation-related signaling, complementing broader workflows in epigenetics and nuclear architecture research.
