HOXC8 (Homeobox C8) is a homeodomain-containing transcription factor encoded at chromosomal locus 12q13.13, with documented roles in embryonic patterning, skeletogenesis, and neural crest specification. The Antibodies.com polyclonal reagent is raised in rabbit and affinity-purified against epitopes on the human HOXC8 protein, supporting western blot detection in human, mouse, and rat sample lysates. Provided as 100 µl of unconjugated immunoglobulin at 1 mg/ml in phosphate buffered saline containing 15 mM sodium azide at approximately pH 7.2, the antibody is supplied ready for dilution into standard immunoblotting workflows and can be paired with anti-rabbit HRP or fluorophore-conjugated secondary reagents for chemiluminescent or fluorescence-based readouts. Because polyclonal preparations recognise multiple epitopes, the reagent offers a broad detection window for HOXC8, including contexts where isoform variation or post-translational modification might otherwise compromise binding by an epitope-specific monoclonal clone. For long-term storage, aliquot the antibody and freeze at -20°C; the sodium azide included in the formulation prevents microbial contamination and supports short-term refrigerated handling. Researchers using anti-HOXC8 reagents have reported altered expression in non-small cell lung adenocarcinoma, breast carcinoma, and prostate cancer, where HOXC8 contributes to epithelial-mesenchymal transition and invasive cell behaviour. The unconjugated format leaves the antibody open to user-defined conjugation if a custom reporter is needed beyond standard western blot readouts.
