Anti-HOXB1 Antibody

Developed by Antibodies.com as a polyclonal reagent for researchers studying developmental gene regulation, this anti-HOXB1 antibody targets the Homeobox B1 transcription factor encoded within the HOXB cluster on human chromosome 17. HOXB1 sits near the top of the anterior-posterior HOX hierarchy and is widely investigated for its role in rhombomere identity, hindbrain patterning, neural crest specification, and early motor neuron differentiation, as well as its reactivation in certain leukaemia and solid-tumour contexts.

The antiserum is raised in rabbit and supplied at 1 mg/ml in PBS containing 0.1% sodium azide and 50% glycerol as stabiliser. Each vial contains 100 µl of working solution that performs cleanly in Western blot and immunohistochemistry workflows on human and mouse samples. Sodium azide is incompatible with some live-cell and HRP-coupled reporter assays, so users should exchange into azide-free buffer when those applications are required.

For storage, keep the vial at -20 °C in single-use aliquots and protect from light; repeated freeze-thaw cycles should be avoided to preserve epitope binding. The unconjugated format allows flexible pairing with HRP, alkaline phosphatase, fluorophore, or biotin secondary reagents, and the rabbit host is compatible with both rabbit-on-rabbit and standard two-step IHC detection chemistries. The reagent is intended for research use only and is well suited to chromatin, nuclear-extract, and embryonic-tissue studies where HOXB1 protein expression changes during morphogenesis.
